Softorage by the Numbers - A Monthly Analytics Update
by Sanmay Joshi on Feb 6, 2026
Welcome to the open analytics page for Softorage.
We believe in transparency and the value of “building in public”. Instead of keeping the traffic numbers hidden, I’m sharing the raw data of how Softorage is performing. Whether the numbers go up or down, I want to document the journey, learn from the patterns, and give you an inside look at what it takes to grow this platform.
Below, you will find a monthly breakdown of my self-hosted analytics (Visitor & View counts) and Google Search Console performance (Clicks & Impressions).
This post is updated monthly. The newest data is listed first.
January 2026: The Start of a New Year
(Date Updated: February 6, 2026)
Comments
For a few short days, organic traffic from Google surged to nearly 15x the normal trendline, specifically targeting a few select pages. In fact, the traffic that Google Search Console showed was higher than what the analytics registered. The only explanation I have been able to come up with is that quite a significant chunk of the users that landed on Softorage from Google blocked JavaScript entirely, making them invisible for the Umami analytics. While I’m still analyzing exactly what triggered the algorithm to favor those posts, the numbers have since returned to expected baseline levels.

How We Track This Data
To ensure accuracy while respecting user privacy, we use a specific tech stack to monitor Softorage:
Umami (Self-Hosted Analytics)
Instead of using Google Analytics, which tracks users across the web, we use Umami.
Privacy-Focused: Umami does not use cookies, does not track you across other sites, and is fully GDPR compliant.
Data Ownership: Because we self-host this on a server under our control, the data belongs to us, not a third-party advertising entity.
What it tracks: It simply counts how many people visit and which pages they view, giving clean, high-level insights without invading your privacy.
Google Search Console
We use this purely to understand how people find Softorage via Google Search. It tells us which keywords (Search Queries) are bringing people here and how often the site appears in search results (Impressions).
Thanks for stopping by!
