Refund Policy

Outlines the non-refundable nature of sponsorship payments and open-source premium supporter packages, with limited exceptions for exceptional circumstances.

Refund Policy

1. General Policy

All payments made to Softorage for platform sponsorships and Open Source Premium Supporter Packages (including Supporter Badges and Priority Support) are final and non-refundable. By completing a transaction, the Sponsor or Supporter acknowledges and agrees to this no-refund policy.

2. Exceptions

In exceptional circumstances, the Provider may, at its sole discretion, offer a partial or full refund. Such determinations will be made on a case-by-case basis. Known exceptions include:

  • Program Cancellation: The cancellation of an event or program by Softorage.
  • Priority Support Feasibility: If a purchased Priority Support request cannot be fulfilled due to technical limitations, architecture conflicts, or scope mismatch, the maintainer reserves the right to reject the request and issue a full refund to the original payment method.

3. Cancellations

  • Visibility and Badges: Sponsors and Supporters may request the early termination of their sponsorship display or Supporter Badge. However, no refunds or credits will be provided for the unused portion of the term. Once a badge is published to the repository, the service is considered fulfilled.
  • Priority Support: If you wish to cancel a Priority Support request before any development work has commenced, you may contact us to request a cancellation and refund. Once development work has commenced, no refunds will be provided.

4. Modification of Sponsorship Tier

(Note: This section applies specifically to Softorage platform-wide sponsorships. Open Source Supporter Badges currently have no strict tier hierarchy, and thus cannot be upgraded or downgraded).

  • Upgrades: Sponsors may upgrade their tier during the active sponsorship term by paying the difference between the proportionate cost of the current tier for the remaining duration and the proportionate cost of the desired tier for the same remaining duration.

  • Downgrades: Downgrading of sponsorship tiers is not permitted, and no refunds or credits will be issued for choosing a lower tier.
